Isambard Kingdom Brunel built Paddington for the Great Western Railway, and the present station opened in 1854 under an iron and glass roof. In 1958 a small bear from darkest Peru was found here, in a book, which is more than can be said for some of the trains. Since 2022 it has also been an Elizabeth line station, so you can now be delayed underground as well.
