A BIT OF HISTORY

Piccadilly opened in 1842 as Store Street, became London Road, and has been Piccadilly since 1960. It’s the busiest station in Manchester, yet it has only two through platforms, 13 and 14, which Network Rail formally declared congested in 2019. That’s why your train to the airport is waiting outside.
